4. Furniture care:

Care and use of furniture made of solid oak and natural oak veneer:

Furniture made of natural wood gives the home coziness, at the same time it is durable and extremely strong, so it will last for many years. To enjoy the furniture for as long as possible, you need to use and maintain it properly.

Our furniture is intended for indoor use only, so we warn you to never use indoor furniture outside or in damp areas such as: garage, bathroom or poorly ventilated warehouse. Large deviations from the normal indoor climate can damage the furniture. Therefore, we recommend controlling the air humidity and temperature.

Always use the furniture only for its intended purpose. Do not jump on the furniture, climb, sit on the armrests, do not use the furniture to climb on. Place the furniture only on flat surfaces, avoid impacts, otherwise distortions of the structure may occur. When moving furniture from one place to another, move it, do not push or pull it on the floor. Furniture joints can be deformed from pulling or pushing. If screws, screws, clamps or corners are used to fasten the furniture, they may loosen and cracks or looseness of the furniture may appear. Continue using the furniture only after re-tightening the fittings. Do not place heavy or sharp objects on the furniture, do not place hot objects without a special tray. Do not scratch the surface with sharp objects, do not cut food products directly on the tabletop, it is necessary to use a cutting board – this way you will not damage the integrity of the tabletop. Keep the furniture away from pets, their claws can scratch the furniture parts.

Storing solid wood furniture has several nuances. Natural wood tends to warp, change shape and dimensions, this happens if the wood is stored in the wrong conditions. Always place the furniture in dry, well-ventilated, closed and protected from harmful atmospheric effects. Try not to expose the furniture to particularly dry or humid storage conditions for a long time, so that it does not change periodically. Over time, improper air humidity can damage the integrity of the furniture or its details. Some defects, such as splits, bends, may not be restored even after restoring suitable environmental conditions. It is recommended that the air temperature of the rooms where the furniture is placed is 15-25 ºC, and the relative air humidity is 40-60%.

Natural wood furniture can dry out during the heating period, so it is advisable to humidify the air in the house to maintain a normal relative humidity. At very low relative humidity, there is a high risk that the furniture will crack. During the off-season, when the air humidity increases, solid wood furniture can attract moisture from the environment, so the rooms should be dried using dehumidifiers.

Wooden furniture is damaged by temperature fluctuations, so try to place the furniture as far as possible from radiators, heating devices, air vents or air conditioners. Hot weather can cause furniture to dry out and become deformed. Also, do not put the furniture against damp walls.

Upholstered furniture use and care:

The seat or back parts of the furniture, which are made of spherical synthetic filling or feathers, need to be modeled from time to time, shaken by hand to regain their original appearance.

Avoid excessive point loading. Do not kneel or kneel on the seating elements. Do not jump on the soft parts of the furniture to avoid sudden shocks to the fabric, springs, foam, wood parts. Do not sit on the armrests! This can cause deformations.

Protect wooden finishing details from impacts, water and other liquids. Clean them only with products intended for cleaning surfaces that are covered with varnish.

Excessive humidity can damage upholstered furniture and mold may appear, so the recommended room temperature should be 18-23°C and relative humidity should be 45-55%.

Protect the furniture from direct sunlight. It is advisable to close curtains or other window coverings to protect the furniture upholstery from severe fading. Do not park near heating devices. Avoid sudden changes in temperature and humidity. Over time, all upholstery slightly changes its original color, becomes lighter. And this is not a defect, but a natural tissue reaction.

Avoid sitting on soft furniture with light fabric with dark clothes that tend to stain. Such stains cannot be removed from most furniture fabric surfaces. Stains caused by contact with strongly colored material (e.g. denim) and soiling caused by improper use cannot be a reason for a claim.

The luster and shimmer in the seats is the result of the luster of the velor, chenille, floccose hair. During longer use, the hair is more compressed in the sitting parts, so the differences between darkness and lightness can be seen when illuminated. This is not a fabric defect.

Color differences between the sample at the time of purchase and the final product may vary. Due to dyeing technologies, there is no absolute guarantee that the color of the sample fabric or leather will exactly match the color of the final product.

Be careful when wearing clothes with decorative elements (eg rivets) and sharp objects in trouser pockets – this can irreparably damage the furniture upholstery.

General information for surface care.

It is necessary to protect furniture surfaces from damage. Do not place hot dishes directly on the surface, use high-quality coasters, this way you will avoid scratches and stains from the effects of heat. Do not place household appliances that emit heat higher than +30ºC on top of furniture.

The surfaces of our furniture are not resistant to the effects of liquids, so in the event of a spill, it must be removed as soon as possible.

Instructions for use and maintenance of painted surfaces:

It is recommended to use a cloth slightly moistened with water for cleaning. Cleaners based on alcohol, chlorine or ammonia are not suitable for maintenance. DO NOT use aggressive or abrasive cleaning or polishing agents.

Instructions for use and maintenance of stained and varnished surfaces:

For cleaning, it is recommended to use only a cloth slightly moistened with water. Cleaners based on alcohol, chlorine or ammonia are not suitable for maintenance. DO NOT use aggressive or abrasive cleaning or polishing agents.

Dirt should be cleaned and spilled liquids should be drained immediately so that the liquids do not soak into the pores of the wood.

Instructions for use and maintenance of oiled surfaces:

For cleaning, it is recommended to use only a cloth slightly moistened with water. Cleaners based on alcohol, chlorine or ammonia are not suitable for maintenance. DO NOT use aggressive or abrasive cleaning or polishing agents.

ATTENTION! You will enjoy the beauty of natural wood on oiled surfaces for longer if you take care of it properly and responsibly. Such a surface is sensitive to various liquids, food residues or other impurities of a liquid consistency.

If the aforementioned dirt gets on the surface, it should be removed immediately with a dry or only slightly damp cloth. When removing dirt, there is no need to rub hard, as this can damage the color of the oil. Always use high-quality pads to protect surfaces properly.

Furniture made of natural solid wood and wood veneer is durable because it can always be renewed. This is a big advantage. With proper care of such furniture, you will be able to enjoy it for many years. Longevity is ensured by their continuous and completely uncomplicated renewal. We recommend renewing oiled surfaces every six months.

Renewal of oiled surfaces:

The old surface can be scrubbed in two ways: by hand or using a sander. In both cases, use sandpaper with an abrasive grit of P150 or P180. When sanding surfaces by hand, it should be done according to the texture of the wood.
We distribute the oil evenly on the surface with the help of a cloth. You need to oil in the direction of the wood. Cover the entire area evenly.
After 15-20 minutes, wipe off excess oil well with a clean, dry cloth.
Allow the surface to dry thoroughly for 24 hours.
Use only quality furniture oil.

IMPORTANT! How many times the surface can be sanded and renewed depends on what the surface is made of: solid wood or a furniture panel covered with natural oak veneer.

The surface of the solid wood can be renewed many times.

The natural wood veneer glued to the furniture panel is 0.6mm or 1mm thick, so the renewal of such a surface is limited: from 5 to 10 times, depending on which layer of the veneer is cleaned each time it is renewed. Surfaces coated in this way must be sanded very carefully, so as not to sand down the thickness of the shell to the plate.

Unpacking furniture:

When unpacking the furniture and removing the protective film, do not use sharp tools to avoid scratching or damaging the surface of the furniture.

Furniture assembly:

Ignoring the warnings in the furniture assembly instructions may result in damage to the furniture during assembly or serious injury to health.

If, after unpacking the furniture, before assembly it appears that any part is damaged or missing, do not continue or stop the assembly process and contact the seller, as only spare parts approved by the manufacturer can be used.

Assemble the furniture on a flat surface. In order to avoid damage to the elements or the base, it is recommended to carry out the assembly after placing a protective pad on the base (e.g. using materials from the disassembled packaging).

IMPORTANT! The furniture we sell is not intended for re-selection and assembly. After choosing furniture assembled by us or assembled by himself for the first time and disassembling it, the customer assumes responsibility for any malfunctions that occurred during its reassembly or defects that appeared during further operation of the furniture.

The texture of natural wood and differences in finishes:

Each piece of furniture made of natural solid wood or natural wood veneer is unique due to the variety of wood texture, grain and shades, so the furniture you receive may differ slightly from the furniture you saw in the photos or video material before ordering.

Furniture usually consists of many individual parts, some of which are made of natural wood, others of MDP or MDF panels covered with wood veneer. The color of wood is not one shade or pattern, each tree is different, grows in different conditions and is of different age. Such things as small (up to 10mm) point branches, wood grain, variations in the color of each detail, unevenness of the wood structure should not confuse you. On the contrary, this is exactly what emphasizes the natural beauty of wooden furniture.

All natural wood finishing details may differ slightly in their shade or material structure.

Natural solid wood and natural wood veneer absorb oils, stains and varnishes differently (solid wood less, veneer more), as a result, the tone in solid wood furniture or its details is softer, and in furniture or its details burned with natural wood veneer, it is more intense. These differences are not considered a manufacturing defect.

It is advisable to note that the shade of painted, varnished or oiled furniture changes over time due to the exposure to light, so new furniture with the same coating placed next to the old ones will have a different shade.

We inform you that the shade of different furniture of the same finish may differ from one another, because the furniture was produced in different batches at different times. For each batch, paints, stains, oils or times are re-mixed according to the same formulas, but minimal differences are possible. Some of the furniture we have in stock is pre-made, others can come to you directly from the factory, so if you order several pieces of furniture from the same collection and finish, there is a possibility that their shades will differ slightly.

Also, the difference in the shade of the furniture may appear in the long run if a certain part of it is constantly exposed to light, and the other part is not, for example, if you pull a computer monitor that has not been moved for a long time, an area of a different shade will remain where it is parked.

Furniture dimensions:

The overall dimensions of the furniture may differ from those given in the specification of the furniture in our online store by up to +-5 mm depending on the size of the furniture: the larger the furniture, the greater the error. The tolerance of individual furniture details, such as: doors, drawer fronts, shelves, niche gaps, legs or other details, is +-2mm. This is a normal dimensional error tolerance and is not considered a quality defect.

Due to the dimensional tolerance of individual pieces of furniture, the size of the gaps between the furniture body and the door or drawer front may vary by up to +-2mm for one piece and this is not treated as a quality defect.

In order for the gaps to be even, the furniture must stand on a level floor. The unevenness of the floor can be compensated for by inserting an additional pad or other material under the furniture leg or by adjusting the door hinges (as indicated in the furniture assembly instructions).

Protect the floor material.

Standard felt pads are already glued to all our furniture or they are included in the furniture package. Please note that these standard felt pads are of a recommendation nature and we do not assume responsibility for possible floor covering defects during the period of use of the furniture. The customer’s responsibility is to assess whether they are suitable for the existing floor covering, if necessary to change them to suitable ones at his own discretion and thus avoid possible floor covering defects.

Danger of the furniture tipping over:

WARNING! Do not leave children unattended near the furniture. No need for doors, drawers, etc. do not leave open as this may pose a danger to children.

Our furniture has a structural device (strips screwed to the back of the furniture, attached to the body) designed to prevent the furniture from tipping over. This or another device must be installed so that the furniture can be used safely. After receiving the furniture, the customer decides at his own discretion whether the protective strip recommended by us will be suitable for protection against boiling. If necessary, the customer can install a protective device of his choice. Screwing the strip to the wall must be done by the customer himself or by responsible persons hired by him.

ATTENTION! Due to the variety of walls, such a protective structure is not equipped with wall mounting elements or screws. Please choose the appropriate screws or other fasteners for the existing wall yourself. If in doubt about which elements or screws to use, you should contact the consultants of a specialized store.

The furniture manufacturer and seller are not responsible if the furniture was not attached to the wall or was attached improperly, resulting in personal injury or damage to objects, equipment or home interior details as a result of the furniture falling.

Odor and ventilation recommendation:

Painted, lacquered or oiled furniture can have a specific smell for up to 2-3 months and this is not considered a quality defect. The smell will evaporate faster if the room is additionally ventilated by opening the windows, and the furniture drawers and doors are open.

6. Final provisions:

6.1. All disputes related to these rules shall be resolved by negotiation. In case of disagreement, disputes are resolved according to the procedure established by the laws of the Republic of Lithuania.
